Now that the GLI is sitting low with the coils, I’ve realized it really needs a nice set of wheels to make it *pop!*
While the stocks are far from ugly ( I actually love how they look) they are very curb rashed from the previous owner’s inability to park the damn thing without hitting a curb. So, I come to you for opinions on the following wheels that I am considering:
1. VMR V701
affordable, good looking, and available in silver! retail for about $800 a set
2. Hartmann Euromesh IV
-local to me manufacturer, so I can pick up and avoid shipping, very high quality, affordable. also around $800 a set.
3. Rotiform RCE
-Sex in wheel form. literally. pricey tho.
4. Enkei RPF1
-Duh. Ultra light, ultra strong, ultra overplayed. These are on the list because of light weight more than anything. V. pricey tho.
-Also, I will be putting audi S-style brushed aluminum mirror caps on the car, and that’s why I want silver wheels, to match the future mirror caps

Any OEM wheels (VW, Audi, etc.) interest you? You can maybe fond some good take-offs on CL.
When it comes to the options here, the RPF1 are just classic radness. Look for something with a lip for dem hips

O.Z. Ultraleggara. My bro in law has them in his MK4. They are so hot. I think they’d work well on your car. A bit sharper than the RPF-1. Also pretty lightweight.
Also if some one complements your wheels you can say “Oh zees!” In a silly German accent.
Or the Hartmann’s, because Rotiforms are crazy money.

I personally would choose option 2.

BBS CH, if kinja’d. they aren’t cheap. Or light. But the look cool

I vote for the V701.

RPF1 are good wheels. Popular because they’re really solid. At the end of the day, durability/longevity matters (unless you’re tracking).

My personal vote is to try to find another type of wheel that has the same grey fascia/black inner spoke color as the current wheels.

If I had $2300 lying around these would be on my car yesterday...

I like OZ superleggeras. I don’t like the look of those at all tbh....

not really, because of their weight. I want to shed some weight if possible. I’ve already got a gutted trunk. I like the RPF1's since I’d lose around 10lbs per wheel with them lol.
With that said, a set of new OEM bathursts (the wheels I have) would be great

that is true, and yes light track duty will be had

they’re heavy af. I want lighter ones. I did find a set tho, for $700, and they’re near-new

It’s not like the Enkeis are bad, it’s just that they’re everywhere.
